I was about to order fittings and it occurred to me that the 90 degree fittings I was about to order may not be the best fit at the cooler, itself. I'll use 90 degree fittings in the block, however. It seems like a couple 45 degree fittings into the bottom of the oil cooler might be in order for the best routing. Does anyone have photos of their setup so I can get an idea of what to buy in terms of fittings at the cooler?

Yes you'll need two 45 degree NPT to JIC/ -AN fittings, depending on what kind of hoses you're running. I assume you're running an oil cooler with NPT fittings?

One oil cooler line mod that isn't so common is keeping the stock section of aluminum lines and cutting off the rubber, flaring the end of the aluminum for JIC or -AN and using hydraulic hose to replace the rubber section. I'm contemplating something similar for my P400 as the girdle doesn't leave much clearance to run the hoses between the block and motor mount and the hoses do see some rubbing and vibration. Having metal lines in that section like the stock setup does is appealing to me. Downside is you have several more fittings in each line and thus more potential loose/ failure points

hydraulic hose is generally rated at 212 F, I think. That's not a high enough rating for me to be comfortable.
Yes, that temp rating is not near high enough.
I’ll check with NAPA and see what they have, and or, what they can get.
I’ll show them that pic of the Parker hoses and see if they have something compatible.

if one was to get fancy with some 1/2" stainless tubing and bend and shape them so the two hard lines are flared with a JIC nut to connect at the block with the 90 deg adapters, run along the block side with some hold down straps. flared out with another nut up under the PS pump next to the timing cover where you can have two short hoses from there to the cooler. that would have a nice clean look. even if you got a hydraulic shop making the short hoses to also cover them in some stainless braid wrap helping protect the hoses from the random road debris.
