Engine Arrived

I see another Post whore thread coming up in here if there aren't more than a sentance in each post lol

First, I'm still at work. Second I sent a friend with a pickup to collect my package from the trucking company. So I haven't even seen it.

I purchased a 6.2/6.5 hybrid long block from Diesel Depot, /w ceramic coated pistons, painted black.

After a draining of the Torque converter / transmission service, the assembly will begin.

I'll post pic, asap along with anything interesting along the way.

yeah, now I see that - I don't normally read all the regulars sig after I've seen it one time.

That looks funny with those small tires......I'm sure that's next on his list.
Definitely looks a lot better.

So, here are a few pictures:

There was some shipment damage, so I have to work through that before I can install :mad2:

<Spoken like Tony Soprano>-----> ""The fact of the matter is, you need to box that up,, and ship it to me, ya prick ya!""

but really that looks sweet!,, Can't wait to hear how it goes, and runs. Congrats on the new addition to your family!

Damage looks to be minor

The valve covers took most of it. Something fell over the top and or slid in to the back of the skid. A piece of the bracing was broken, which allowed the motor to shift and crush the dip stick tube fitting on the oil pan. The right side valve cover is the worst. The CDR port is crushed down about an inch of so. I'm slightly concerned about the rockers / push rods in that area. The left valve cover is wrinkled a little.

Its the inconvenence of waiting until Monday to talk to the overage / shortage & damage guy from the carrier. I also understang that stuff happens, but when a 12" x 10" x 2" triangle is laying in the truck or wharehouse, I would expect a driver to make a note on the bill.

I can change out the tins with my old ones, its just disapointing.

I took most of next week off of work to do the install. So once the damage issue is resolved, I hope to be running by the weekend. I have a business trip in two weeks, I would like the truck running and shook down before I leave.

I can't wait to try out my new Car Code setup and attempt TDCO for the first time. :D
