This is probably a stupid question, but does my 07 have a built in brake controller? Im looking at an enclosed trailer with electric brakes and am wondering if i need to install a brake controller or will it work stock?
Thanks

If you don't have that ^ , then you don't have the factory built in brake controller. Without that or an aftermarket controller, the trailer brakes won't work.

no, you have an 07 Classic, judging by it being LBZ, not LMM. the LMM 2007s were the ones with the built in controller option.

So no, no controller, but it is easy to put one in with the purchaseable, or factory included jumper harness that you wire to a controller, plug it in under the dash, and then it should work. (dont take my word on it, might still need to hook up a few wires, but IIRC, the only wire not hooked up is the positive lead that allows for trailer battery charging) Get a good Tekonsha, and good luck!

Tekonsha has a plug and play cable to make life simple for a few more bucks. All you need from the factory one is the 40a fuse.
