Ran across this stuff on a random google search.

Pretty big claims for a 6.5 here:

Our Stage 4 High Output Kit for your 1996-2003 H1 Hummer will make a huge difference to the overall power output, cooling and drivability of your H1 Hummer. The basis of the performance upgrade is the RapTorq Performance Computer system. This kit is designed to add a whole new level of performance with an additional 185 hp, on average, and improved cooling.

185 HP increase and better cooling?

:skep:

Heck, 185 Hp alone is boastful enough.

By thier claims, my similarly equipped truck should have somewhere around 380 hp..........:rolleyes5:

The "Rapboost" on page 3:

also looks veeeeerrrrrry familiar.........:nono:

Think they pay "royalties" to anyone we know?

But, I suppose, they could have figured it all out and know how to get that 400 -ish HP.......whatchathink?

:p

BULLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL snort.

There is no way on Gawds green earth to add 185 HP to a 6.5 and then have it live so they could brag about it.

The 6.5 is good for about 300HP at the max and that is with some serious mods.

Jim Bigley over at the Page did one a few years ago and he spent some time and $$$ to get there.

225 HP is a good level for most engines that will allow them to live a good long life span.

The factory rating on an F engine is 190 HP (SAE)
Sooo we are going to add 185 HP to this figure. Hmmmmm where is all the fuel gonna come from.

The DB2 can't supply that much and the DS4 can't either. Only so much HP can be made from the fuel that these pumps can supply.

A DB4 maybe.

Now, with all that new found HP, whatcha gonna do with all the heat that the little engine that could is gonna make. OH that sucker is gonna melt for sure.

Now anybody that says that they can get a 40 HP gain has certainly got my attention. This is a number thats possible, very possible.

The HO injector scams out there that claim 40 HP are a laugh too. The IP controls the amount of fuel that is injected, not the injectors. Once the IP has reached "POP" pressure the injector opens and the fuel sprays into the engine, then once the fuel volume is gone the pressure drops and the injector snaps shut again. The idea that an injector with different orifices can somehow make more fuel flow from a given plunger volume is not gonna fly.

The DS4 can, under ideal conditions provide 90 mm of fuel supply when the right controller is running the show, but most dont make quite this much.

So I wanna see this nearly 400HP Hummer with the 6.5

You don't have to go all the way to Egypt, Robyn ... just North Carolina. This is the TeakaToys stuff, just repackaged.

Lots of what they sell is indeed a branch-off from one of my favourite 6.5 guys - but you need to understand their market.

As soon as you start selling everyday stuff to people who buy Hummers to go get groceries, you have to make all sorts of crazy-wild claims and charge outrageous amounts, of they won't buy it. Face it - none of those types really understand performance or reliability... they bought a Hummer so they could act like they were 'somebody', and they just LOVE to tell people how much they spent to achieve stardom.

Take our friend Larry from America's Search-and-Rescue, for example. Anybody else's PMD dies, they get a relocate kit. Not him... he spams 50 forums to tell everybody he has MORE THAN ONE Hummer, and that these machines (unlike our lowly trucks) are DEDICATED TO SAVING LIVES and so he should somehow start a national campaign to put his plight on the back of milk cartons.

So they buy the right to re-distribute Bill's stuff with a new name. Great racket, huh?

For instance, their performance PCM is delivered by courier in a velvel-lined, rosewood box.

That's pretty important, and definitely worth paying extra for, eh?

Incidentally, if you read the 'About Us' sections of both those websites, you will find all kinds of cool stuff. Movie stars, stunt coordinators, fame and fortune, Hummers that can race across the desert at 140mph in 120* heat, patriotism (because their stuff protects our troops - even though Uncle Sam doesn't use aftermarket performance parts), etc. It's entertaining reading. :)

Actually, I kind of like the box.......

Hey waitaminute, did a moderator just post a link to a "non sponsoring" vendor?

;)

Yes he did and I'm taking him out to the woodshed later :)

I spoke to some folks about this Predatory company, turn out they have a penchant for reverse engineering stuff just enough to "make it their own" without giving credit to source of original concept then adding in unsubstantiated claims.

people who buy Hummers to go get groceries

My neughbour has H1, you should saw hes face when i went to store with kenworth and picked case of beer and drove back home....
If compared to kenworths here in europe hummers are everywhere LOL :D

So you sold your 6.5 and own a Kenworth? Pictures please.

S engine with egr and maf delete combined to almost free boost and extra load of fuel, and tcc lock should stay on while decelaration. ( i'm not going to post all details, but this should be really good tune)

That's a nice box, i'd install the PCM with the box still around it. Especially for what you pay for it...

I don't know if anyone read the 185hp adder details. That pcm apparently also makes your truck run cooler too.

I guess it makes the water pump run faster and the clutch fan come on sooner? /endsarcasm
