Duramax Brake Lines

Just curious, but has anyone had to replace their brake lines yet on a Duramax powered truck? My buddy has a 2005, and spends time plowing and driving up North in NH and ME. He just told me that he had to have all the brake lines replaced. He said they rotted right through and caused a leak.
Anyone????

Brother in law had to replace his on the 06 2500hd he plows with for the same reason

Did he get them from a dealership? Or have them custom made?

It's quite common on that generation of trucks, there was even a class action that was tried against GM for it. I thought somebody said stainless tube was making a set for them.

Looks like Dorman makes a kit. They also give the OEM part number which I ran on eBay and found a few stainless steel kits.

I just installed a set of stainless from Dorman on my '04 a couple months ago. They fit great and cost $70.58 delivered to my door. GM sells a pre bent set for about $100.00 or so, but I went with stainless. Brake lines have gotten a lot cheaper since I last did them three and a half years ago on the other truck.

While they're doing the hardlines, get a set of SS braided flex lines too, that really helps with pedal feel from what I hear.

Cool. I will definitely get those. My OEM black flex lines look like they need replacing too!
