No, the cab does not have to come off. Theres several who are used to working on Ford's who pull the cabs, but by no means does it have to come off for anything. GM actually made some stuff easier to get to on the L5P.

The Ford is bigger in some ways, but still cramped in others. My girlfriend's dad is a big Ford guy, has a 2018 F350 on order. Interested to see it when he gets it, byt I still prefer my GM currently.Someone told me that GM is now like the Ford in that the cab must be removed for major repairs. Is that correct?
My son bought a 2017 F250, 4 door, 4wd with the 6.7 diesel. He said the Ford interior was bigger than the GM and he needed the room for baby seats. The neighbor's kid whom he works with, went and bought the same truck but a 1 ton F350. He had blown one of the timing chains in his 5.3 liter F150.
