dmax fan upgrade

okay so the 4 bolt one which is 03 duramax 6.6 will fit my clutch? is that a 20" or 21"er? either one will fit the 6.2's shroud as it is more "open" than the 6.5 shroud

Reverse rotation with serpentine belts. Standard rotation with "V" belts. The newer fan will not work with a "V" belt setup.

Your body style should not need the extra airflow from a better fan.

oh alright, is that because of how well my grill flows? ha like one big box

It is because of the box shape, yes. The old body style gets better airflow than the new aerodynamic body. It only took GM 10 years to figure that out and put a better 9 blade fan in. This was after a thicker radiator did not fix the NBS issue in testing. It allows better MPG unloaded than the other brands - but loaded the fan kicks the MPG down...

oh, i had it out today in nearly 90*F and it was running 200*F water temp, more than i saw with the Chinese t stat. Now im running the AC delco but my water pump may also be weak, ill know sometime here as i have a new one ready to go

Add 10 degrees to the T-Stat temp to get the full open temp. So a 195 will be full open at 205 degrees. 200 water temp is ok. 215+ is not...

both were 190, the one made in china ran at 180 all summer but never warmed up in the winter the AC delco warms up quicker and runs at 200 may be a good thing for millage but ill feel better with a new pump either way :) haha
