I have a line on a few maybe ten diesel timing light set ups. These use an optical input to drive a inductive pulse so that you can use a regular inductive timing light. Trying to figure out if 75 dollars per unit is worth it? Anyone in? I like the optical light because you can figure out where actual combustion takes place. Should work on all diesels that use the bosch style glow plugs that we have.

Which one is this ? I have collected a few of the timing systems , and wanted to do a test for all of them , but truck isn't running yet . I have the Snap On that clamps around the injector line , Snap On MT1480 Lumy/Mag and a couple GM Tach-N-Time .

I will get the make and model number of the unit. I have one and it works good. The guy has ten and He says they were new out of stock. They only work if you have the same size glow plug as we do on our trucks. Gm Diesels and ford diesels use them not sure what else.

I might be in. Tell me how it compares to a Tach-N-Time. I've never used my TNT because I've always had electronic diesels, but maybe someday I'll need it!

So this is the optical sensor style , as in you install this in the glow plug hole and it sees the firing of the mixture ?

Guys passed on the timing light sets, bought one for myself and it works great. Just didn't need ten of them, so I talked him into one. Just don't have the time to mess with it right now, have other priorities, that need addressing. Thanks anyways.

They were made by Fox Valley, Diesel timing adapter

Going from the USA to Canada will often generate extra charges, but what about going from Canada to the USA?

Anybody have experience with this?

Don

Everything has to go through customs so the cheapest -- and slowest -- way is by US Mail. Plan on a month or so for delivery.
I've gotten stuff out of there for my Vette.

So the tach-n-time everyone is mentioning is the Kent Moore J-33300 correct?

if so, how does this one compare? needing to buy something eventually.
