Did some PM today

You could re-route the PCV there if you wanted to. The earlier model Duramax's just vented into the air like the by pass kits show.

If you just do the blocker without the finger stick, it'll set the CEL in a hurry. There are 3 codes- P0403, P0401 and P0406 that mine threw when I had the EGR solenoid removed.

No issues with the PCV re-route- no oil smell in the cab, no drips on the driveway.

Just a word of advice, when you are retighteng the nuts that connect the intake to the EGR/motor intake, don't overtighten. Its cast aluminum, and I have a friend who tells me that it is very easy to crack :mad2:

Just curious, at what point did the Windex, garbage bags, calculator, and pvc primer and glue come into play?

Changed the oil, fliter, external alli filter and greased it today. I'D like to know if that GM Gorllia had been to my house, because I didn't think I was going to get the oil and tranny filter broke loose. I swear it didn't seem like I tightened them that tight before. Of course the oil was real black at a little over 5400 miles on it. The transmission fluid that drained from the tranny, while I was taking the filter off was real red and looked good without any burnt smell. Hit all the grease fittings and as you know there are a few of them that are a son of a gun.

Oh yea every thing looked good under there except the transmission lines have started leaking. Guess its time to see about repairs for that, beacuse there was a good amount of fluid on the lines.

Nick, I run Shell Rotella 15W-40. It seems to do pretty good and so far I see no oil consumption between oil changes (5000 miles or so). I thought about going to a synthetic but I think I would be wasting my money. I checked and I am going about 10 to 11 months between oil changes.
