Diamond Eye Exhaust

I just ordered mine today from TV Diesel. Can't wait to get it put on. How is the quality of it and how does it fit?

Steve

I ordered mine last Wednesday from TV aswell supposed to be here on the 3rd cant wait to get it on the truck. I've been listening to different setups on youtube and can't wait to drive mine sounding that way. Also to reep the benefits of it all

I gotta say, after giving mine a workout this weekend, my Diamondeye sounds simply awesome under a load. I know it makes the truck breathe better and run better, but the sound it makes working to move 5 tons is simply beautiful music! Sounds pretty darn awesome at idle too.
It's definitely not loud, it couldn't be described as obnoxious like those straight piped Cummins. Makes a little noise, but it sounds tough, like a V8 should. I only wish I could stand behind it and listen to it driving away more often.

I heard the inspector move mine today (and Emissions test it :( ) and ITS LOUD moving the 5 tons! Alot louder than it sounds from the Seat with my utility body full of crap muffling the sound!

A gasser motorhead said it sounded really good pulling up the other day. As I live on the top of a little hill. Its sounds awesome. Has that nice rumble, with the Chevy V8 Flutter. No Cummins wet fart bark.

I installed my DE set a couple weeks ago. I would have to give it very high marks for quality and fit, and TV for very quick shipping. I have an extended cab and the amount of pipe supplied with the kit is enough to do straight pipe if you choose to, however I did install the muffler that came with it. The only thing I did to modify the kit was to re-bend the front clamp hanger rod to change the height that the clamp held the pipe at. I could have installed that clamp without changes, just offsetting it so that the rubber part would not have set vertically, but I was being picky.

I would really like to wait and do the GP's & INJ while I'm that far into it...

Just that it starts & runs so dam good right now & I'm Skeeeerd that something might chit the bed if I try to do too many things at once :rolleyes5:

ITS NOT FAR INTO IT! DON'T WAIT! PUT IT IN! TAKE A FEW HOURS TOPS!

Sorry for yelling, but it was necessary. :) Rip that fender out and toss that new exhaust in.

Don't tighten ANY of the exhaust clamps until you are 100% satisfied with the complete job and positive you need to make no more cuts or adjustments.

Don't forget to go back when done and tighten all clamps :)

I hear Ya Matt. Sometimes I need a little encouragement...LOL.

I really would like to do injectors & GP's before much longer & give the harmonic balancer another look see while I'm being proactive. My truck is not a spring chicken just clicked over 207K but at least my recent oil sample from the Geek provided me with some very positive results...

All indications showing my trucks previous owner took very good care of her...:smile5:

Same here. That is why I recommend people remove the fender as its own 'little project' on another day before the other projects. That way its a simple 10 minute job to remove it the next time.

Starter replacement
Injectors
Glows
Ground Straps (while your in here)
Downpipe
Turbo
Manifold

All those jobs I start by removing the inner liner.

Its also good to get the crud away from the radiator supports so it doesn't hold moisture and cause rot.

Have a couple cans of black spray bomb on hand to clean things up in there before re-install!

I did glows and injectors (seperately) without removing the fender liner. Only thing I removed the fender and liner for was to do the ATT, and I had to put a new fender on anyway. I don't see whats the big deal. If I had to do the injectors again I think I'd yank off the turbo, but in my case I was afraid to pull the bolts out, on the weekend with no support if I broke a bolt.

Preference I guess ... I like working directly in front of my face and being able to see, vs up on top reaching down into the dark feeling for things...

Just got the truck back from local muffler shop, had them install the warpspeed x over & DE exhaust.

I'm very unhappy...they had the thing all day. Charged me $256 to install it, $75 alone was for the studs they snapped off from the exhaust manifold.

Friggin dn pipe is resting on the frame & the exhaust is also touching the trans support. WTF???

I guess if you want something done correctly you have got to do it yrself!

The muffler shop manager told me to drive it for the weekend & see what I think...he's got to be kidding me right?

FruK!!!@

crossover is a bitch..... Having it rest on the frame is no good. Hopefully you can loosen the downpipe clamp and lift it up and retighten and adjust the hanger. Mine clears the frame by about 1/2 inch if that, never rubs.

2 yrs after I installed mine I am getting some rubbing. It's pretty tight in a few places. Possible motor mounts might be sagging a touch
