Did you confirm your getting good supply of fuel to IP yet? It would be worth the time to blow out the lines.

no i haven't. i know i have good supply to ffm and none to the one injector but that's all i know right now. unfortunately, wife worked yesterday, it rained pretty much all day, had both kids....... it just wasn't a convenient break down. i will get the intake pulled off as soon as i get a chance to check it though, to rule it out before i take off the ip.
the ip on it right now was kind of a dog. it was an "straight out of the box '6.2 n/a' military" unit. the one i will be replacing it with has the case pressure increased by 1/2 turn and fuel turned up 1/4. hoping to get a little more pep in the step from the adjustments.
i need to concentrate on getting a TDI, which i would like to be an 03 or older because of the IP changes after that year. i have pre-approval so i would like to get it by the end of the week.

maybe have a peek at the line from the filter to the back of the IP,and were the fuel enters the IP. there's a last ditch screen in or behind the inlet fitting.I think the transfer pump is located there as well.

I remove the IP fuel line without removing the intake. Remove the FFM. Then lay down on the engine and you can get to the hose clamp with a 1/4 or 5/16 socket by reaching under the intake from the back. If this hose or FFM is clogged...

Otherwise it is intake and IP.

You can pull the top of the ip off and check how it looks.

I would have an injector or two tested while you have it 'down'.

I fought hard starting and bad injectors for a year. After I got the 1993 beat into submission it is the smoothest and best running vehicle I own. It is good to have a spare vehicle around, and I know when the 1993 is sick -I don't drive it those days till it is cured/fixed. (Fing bugs in fuel has made all 3 of mine sick!)

i will get a look at the remaining issues in a few days.
found an 02 jetta tdi stick shift in san antonio. an to fly out sunday and drive it home. in good shape for a good price. should pull in 50 mpg.

yes. if i had the money...... i got this one at a good price. don't know what the cruise would sell for, it has some sort of emissions control, new year model intro, APR(mine will be 2.35%), plus depreciation when you leave the lot. and, i don't like to buy new vehicles.
50.00 a week for the tdi compared to 140.00 for the 6.5, gonna be nice.

Fuel only? Car payment Plus fuel is the total picture.

50 MPG isn't worth it if you need a $50,000 car to get it. A $50,000 truck that gets 20's has other uses...

6.5 is fuel plus parts... :hihi:

car cost less than $7,000. plan on sending $360. a month in fuel savings to pay it off. should pay for itself in 2 years or less. the 93 truck is paid for and i will keep it but will sell the 96. i drive 600 miles a week just to get/return to work/home. i NEED/use the truck less than that but i like to drive it. plus, i won't be needing an expensive rental when the truck breaks down.

i am working today but would of liked to get together again. won't be back in town til after 5. wanna fly to San Antonio Sun?
