my grandfather passed away last night after a long battle w/ Alzheimer's. he was in the hospital with sepsis and what they believe was pneumonia. He was in the navy and fought through WWII.

R.I.P. Leo A. Herb Jr. 1927-2009.

Sorry to hear, mine died of pancreatic cancer two years ago. My only remembrence of the guy is his ol 6.5 diesel that i am now reconstructing. He loved that truck, and now i do too!!!!

my grandfather left an old ocean liner sized car behind when they moved out of their house to go into assisted living. unfortunately i have no where to put it at my place and their house has to be sold. it's a 1983 Oldsmobile Delta 88 Royale 2dr Coupe w/ the 307. my uncle bought it brand new and it's been in the family ever since.

Thank guys.

And JMJ your right. it got to the point where he could remember things and then just like that they'd be gone. as he said "it's pissing me off."

He's got his memory back now and he's no longer in pain.

Dave, I'm real sorry to hear that. You and your family are in my thoughts today. Sounds like your Grandpa lived and fought a good life, and he'll live on in your heart (and in that Olds!)

Talk to him when you work on it.

Jim

WWII guys are truly the greatest generation. I hate to see another one gone. I love to hear some WWII stories from those that were there.

Sorry for your loss.

Todd

All our Prayers

The Old guard is slowly leaving us, one by one. My father inlaw was a WWII Vet.
He passed in Jan 07 at 89yo

Great folks that generation was.
We will probably never see anything like them again. True patriots that loved their country.

Best to you and yours

MGW
