I have a 93 c1500 5.7 tbi with a driver side cs130 alternator and i’m looking to upgrade to the cs144. Can’t find any information on this upgrade anywhere. Looking for help as to, does it mount directly in and if not do i need a bracket and if so what kind.

It does not fit. Upper and lower brackets need altering. I used to recommend making the change but with improvements to alternators of last 15 years- I don’t.
Unless you are getting a super high amp cs144 and have major electrical draw and at least one extra battery- you are better off getting a high dollar, higher amp 130 imo.

I dont think there is factory brackets to hold the cs144 on the 5.7. You would have to modify…

Are there brackets out there designed for this or would i have to modify the stock bracket i have

I don’t know of any. I can’t remember seeing a cs144 on a 5.7. They were on 6.0 engines in certain applications, not all. How many of the brackets need to be changed for it all to work would be the next question.

They are used on the diesels but bracket definitely do not cross over.
Nor from the 6.0 h2 as those were specific brackets.

I would seriously look into aftermarket 130 alternators if you don’t know how to fabricate steel.
