Composite headlights to sealed beam headlights?

Has anyone ever swapped the composite headlights to the 88-89 sealed beam headlights?

I think they look neat, I don't know if the light output is any better. After a serious look at doing it on my 1993:

Less choices for bulbs, less available parts, and more rock chip bulb failures.

Junkyard has parts and you would likely need a specific complete grille for just around the headlights and this involves possible different side marker lamps and can be a real pain to find a working grille.

New composite headlights are cheaper and more expensive ones have more options. LMC truck has lots of choices for new parts.

If you do the Conversion, make sure to get housings with an E-Code / ECE Pattern, NOT a DOT pattern.

I've converted mainly to make installing a Ram Cummins CAC/IC on my 1999 K2500 Burb easier because the CAC/IC and turn signals do not need to be cut and modified to fit.

LED headlights to replace the sealed beams are great but costly option too.

The grille opening is just over a foot wider.

I was thinking about using the 88-89 headlight buckets then putting in the lights from lmc truck.

All headlight buckets are not created equal "older are better unless going to heavy truck buckets which are best."
