Code 56. INjection pump resistor

no shuddder at 2000. It doesn't fall off when decel just has a very slight miss. It will have the shudder if you hold it at say 1300 but will hold at 1300. I was under the impressiont eh IP test was to see if the amrature was working. Am I wrong ?

I think there is still more to look at before condemning an IP, its kind of a complex system to judge it only on an idle RPM test. If your timing is still really low at idle like we saw before, it could just be thats when youve finally gotten back up to where the rest of are normally timed at idle. That and your fuel rate was higher than normal. And that is each computer controlled.

Yeah I need to play with the truck some more. I have been slammed busy the last two weeks with work so I back burnered it but would like to see what's up so I can see if it's worth selling or not. Could use some CUCV funds.....

Soooo....Can any diesel experts tell me what is wrong with the truck ?? You know , when time allows sometines the best thing to do is leave it for another day. It's sunday, I slept late, been having a run of rare good luck this week and decided to give 'er another look see. Can you tell what's wrong with tis pic ? I thought maybe I left it loose but it only took a 1/16 inch if not less with seriuos effort and the leak stopped. The truck runs MINT !!! Still think the timing could use a bump. Here's the latest snapshot taken today....
Of course I dropped and broke my camera but it was a cheap POS. Small price to pay for a running truck.):h

BTW If you own a 94-95 6.5TD and don't own GMTDScan, it should be your next purchase. I am probably going to register the truck next week so I have something to drive besides the CUCV. The Lemon sits dead in the driveway again..... It's being sold as soon as I can fix it.

Well it looks like to me you performed TDCO relearn and it has update to -1.14 from -0.44 before. So it was wrong before and causing your issue, so relearning TDCO saves the day again.

dash pulls from CTS, sender on drivers side. ECT sensor for PCM comes from thermostat housing. Mine comes up to 180 the same, but then the PCM might read a little higher.

Actually the missing issue was the loose injector line. As soon as I tightened it the truck ran smooth. It even had a stored inj bal code. I had doen the relearn last week but miss was still present.
HOw do the timing numbers look now thought ? The tdco is ok but what about the measured and desired ? They look low to me but I'm comparing to my Tahoe snapshot which had a Heath Chip and had different readings than a stock chip.

Kenny I'm seeing some stuff that is odd to me but I don't know the scan tool you are using check PMs & call me or shoot me your# & I can call U

I think all your stuff is good. Relearning TDCO fixed all the timings up, and shows that it doesnt learn itself eventually, since that IP has probably been in there a while with the wrong TDCO value.

the actual should be about 30 degrees at idle. Its the 7-8 measured that has gotten better, and a little low due to the idle RPM. I imagine when its cold your measured timing is closer to 11 degrees.

the maximum transient is only the max it has seen since it was started last, not the max allowed.

My idle is often around 580-600RPM.

And one of mine, showing Kenny's is about the same as mine.

I think all your stuff is good. Relearning TDCO fixed all the timings up, and shows that it doesnt learn itself eventually, since that IP has probably been in there a while with the wrong TDCO value.
You probably need to do the re-learn again, Kenny... it shouldn't learn with a stored code (injector balance)... Warm it up good.

Buddy is right about the 2 sensors... if you have that much discrepancy, you need to check into that. One of them is probably right... question is, which one? If the CTS is wrong, there goes your timing and idle calibrations again... it will affect your shifting, too.

I hate picky little stuff like that; it doesn't take too many little things to cascade into what appears to be something serious (but really isn't).

PS - good work getting to the fuel leak - lower pressure = erratic or no 'pops' for #1.

Well, I'll get her hot again and hit the motor with my laser heat probe and see which is closer and change the other. Then try to do the relearn.
