Cleaning / protecting

We always coat our Tank spread with Diesel fuel or Veggie oil. Issue to the OP is he doesnt want it to stick. I think your going to find it hard to do that.
 
Yes, I agree I think the SAE 30 oil polish job would not make it repel dust and grass chafe. He did say it has to soak in some and wear off then it was better. And it had to be rubbed in and off with a soft polish type cloth. This was an ole timer and may have just been the type not to give up his secrets. He said he could re-detail it but not sure what the charge would be.

The dealer did have a spray bottle of a quick detailer that he said was pretty good and what they use to spray all over and polish the showroom equipment. He might have used some of that. But I thought it was pretty expensive for $14 ish for a bottle. And I just typically really dislike buying something that is mass marketed but somebody rebottles it with thier name on it and charges 3x the price. I may break down and get a bottle then try and look for a similar product. Its probably the same stuff on the auto isle at walmart a quick detailer spray.
