Changed Batteries, Hammered On It, Now Running Weird?

Changed my batteries tonight. Cake. Truck started and ran fine as normal. Let it run about 10 mins or so (had been run 2hrs prior), drove for about 5 mins. Oil psi was about 50psi, temp was about 180, truck has 195 tstats that are sticking open and takes it awhile to get all the way to temp. Hammer on it doing a 10-80 pull reaching 3000rpm in 3rd. Now it seems be very rattle-y until about 2100rpm. Almost like the timing is advanced. Idles normal and runs normal on top end. Making 10-12 psi boost now instead of normal 13-15. No CEL. Tried TDC relearn using accelerator pedal held for 45secs with key on etc etc and didn't seem to make a difference. Ideas??

Took a video so you can hear the sound I'm describing.

Given the comment of stuck T-stats, am sensing that the ECM is seeing cold temps and reacting accordingly. Need to get readings of ECT at the crossover (thermostat housing) versus observing the dash gauge. If the crossover is reporting ECT's in the 150's, the typical 'clatter' will give a bit of a machine-gun sound in addition to the clatter. Unless I am missing something, only way to see the crossover's temp is to hook a scanner / gauge to the OBD-II port.

Or, just swap the T-stats first seeing as it looks like they are known bad.

Also, it is possible that the crossover's temperature sending unit is bad in addition to the T-stats.

Update. Got some DTC's this morning, P0216 and P1214 for injection pump timing malfunction. Did a little more research and P0216 can be caused by a faulty timing advance stepper motor on the side of the IP. Pop the hood and what do I find?

So I got new 10-24 machine screws, used Blue loc-tite and away we went. I think it still reverted to OEM timing because it is only making 8-10psi still and I saw 1300egt on the way home, usually never goes above 1200. Hope to relearn TDCO to -1.50 tomorrow and call it good.
