Seems to be a lot of discrepancy on question of cats on the 6.5 figured it was a worthy poll project, did your truck come with a cat

Both the vehicles my sig came with cats and have since had cat-ectemy, and both nearly plugged solid when I surgically removed them, best tool for cat ectemey is a recriprocating saw (Sawz-all)

"cat" = soot trap. I KNOW THIS GUY that

took his off, rammed a pipe through it cutting out the substrate/monolith through the center. Then THIS GUY welded the pipe in place and reattached it to the exaust. Sounds better, lower exhaust temps, better fuel mileage, and best of all, the "thunk test" of whacking the "cat" to see if it was emptied will not fail.

Y'know, it's illegal in Commiefornia to alter smog equipment...
Mine says cat on the sticker that came off the Burb when I replaced the intake, but it was only a lowly soot trap. The CA smog law book said it should have had none! (GVW)

TD, A suggestion with this poll.
Alllow users to vote more than once. I owned 3 6.5s as most of us own more than one. I voted for what my Tahoe had now I can't vote again.

1/1994 K3500 6.5 came factory with a cat. Here is a pic of the inside at 165,000 Miles. Cant see light thru it.

I tried to change it to allow multiple voting as I also have 2 vehicles to vote on, I couldn't make the change maybe admin guys can do it, I'll ask, I may have to redo the poll if they can't fix it as I know you can set up multiple voting at the set up of the poll to begin with.

My 92 and 93 k2500s had no cats. the 94- 2500 hd had,the 95-2500 ld had, the 95-2500hd had, and the 97 -3500 c&c had

It let me do it one more time then I got locked out again. If you want to add my Dually 3500 as a yes, it came with Soot trap. I already did my old Tahoe and my old K3500SRW.

Thx Kenny I was able to tweak the total, so if any of you have more vehicles you need to add but poll won't let you add them I can adjust the count if you let me know what extra vehicles you need to add, if you voted on the 1st thread it is gone so you need to re-vote on this one to be counted, there will be a message that says if you have already voted this poll before.

Every 94 and later truck I ever saw had a cat, just the HD2500 and 3500 vin"F" engines didn't have EGR. The LD2500 and 1500 vin"S" engines had both EGR and cat.

My 92 HD2500 and 93 3500 had neither, both vin"F". My 94 HD2500 had a cat and no EGR, vin"F". My other 94, LD2500(might as well be a half ton, 6 hole wheels) has cat and EGR, vin"S". My buddies 94 3500 had a cat also from the factory.

I need to vote more than once...

I owned a 94 and a 95. Both were k1500's with 's' engines. They were identical drivetrains.

One had a cat and one didn't. Even said so on the emissions sticker on the fan shroud. One said 'catalyst' and one said 'non-catalyst'. Can't remember which was which now though....

I voted no, but I bought my truck used and someone had already gotten ahold of the exhaust and removed the muffler and possibly the soot trap, as well.
