Cant get to the bottom of it!

Hi guys, It is all getting a bit deep for my skills. Limp mode may just be a english term for it, it is the get you home mode triggered by the computer to save the engine, I have no idea what it would be known as over there but all gears just low power. Starting to think its a long limp home will be on the cards.

Would it not be delivering the exact amount of fuel it is supposed to when on limp mode? It seems like that would allow me to monitor it both before and during limp mode but not see what caused the limp mode triggering.

When you can drive it again if it goes into limp mode, check again for codes. Nothing I know of will cause limp mode without setting a code. But there is a lot I don't know.

When it goes on to limp mode I am getting code 13 fuel shut off circuit. Obviously the fuel is not shutting off but it is triggering the limp mode all the same. That is what has happened every time. They are all cleared now so when I drive again I am hoping that the original lift pump replacement had not been recognized by the computer and limp mode is triggering as the code was still stored and the lift pump was not working before.

Hi again guys, had a new development if it means anything to you. After getting the computer cleared of fault codes I finally managed to get off the field, drove about 4 miles, stopped and switched off while I went into a shop, started back up in limp mode with the code 17 (high resolution circuit fault). Cleared it, restarted and still showing fault 17. Does that ring any bells with anyone?

Scrub that, just cleared it again and it started up with 13 again. I think its time to head back home
to where folk will work on your stuff!

Hi guys, just giving an update, had to drive back to the uk and received a diagnosis in minutes, DS4 pump buggered, low and high res, atleast she got me home, that fixed, a couple of weeks seeing family and off we went again. 1000 miles from home and doing fine! Thanks for all of your input!
