Well it got cold here in AZ a couple of weeks ago and the front of my truck started to look like an oil well at start up, so I decided to tackle the removal/rebuild of leaky oil cooler. The truck is a 1989 Ford F350, DRW, 7.3L IDI
Did the research, looked in my shop manual, drained the fluids, got both ends of the cooler loose, removed the two bolts that connect the bracket that bolts onto the drivers side of the block, to the insulator that bolts to the cross-member. Put a jack under it with a 2x4 between the jack and oil pan lip on that side, and instead of just jacking up the left side of the motor, it jacked up the whole truck, the two halves of the motor mount did not separate at all. What am I missing here? I have never done this before, but have hit the wall with it, and now that oil cooler just dangles there, mocking me, and dripping the occasional drop of whatever in my eye. Help!!:mad2:
