brush guard + tow hooks

Here is another Ranch Hand Grill Guard with the tow hooks located at the bottom. Not a close up picture, but maybe you can get an idea about of what it looks like.

buck stop makes a good bumper....but for the money, fitment, and quality of product I would def go with iron bull....not just saying that as their sales rep..but as a customer too....

I think the quality went downhill on the Iron Bull bumpers

I'm not exactly sure what model it is but I like how its contoured to the front end. Some people claim that they're cheap and"get a real bumper" but I dont care. Its more lingerie for the truck than anything else. Hell, I've mainly used it to mount lights on. And living in northern NY state on the border, it was certainly deer country. And up there, deer are the size of a dump truck.

You can see the difference in how I mounted my lights as time went on. Each kinda has a unique look.
Pretty good modifications. There was lots of difference. i am looking to purchase second hand truck so can you guide me to best deal? I need reliable performance with deep knowledge of trucks

Soooo my deer vs Impala has spurred my desire to put a brush guard on the truck. I'm having difficulty finding one that still allows the front tow hooks to remain attached. I use those things quite a bit and won't loose them just to install a brush guard. Which guards out there will fit my needs??

A brush guard will NOT fit your need/concern for deer and Elk. It will just cause more damage. You need a real bumper like post #5 with special concern to keep the bumper out of the front tires after the wreck. Check up on them as people are saying they do the job and save you money keeping a splattered Bambi from costing money on the front of the truck.

They help vs. deer. I've tagged a couple pretty good with my previous patrol rigs with no damage to the truck or brush guard. As far as elk and moose, been my experience with the crashes I responded to over the years that no bumper is going to save you from expensive repairs. They are too tall of an animal and tend to flip up onto the hood and smash into the windshield and A pillars. Unless your truck is lifted I suppose. Besides, 90% of the time it's the stupid deer on the road. Elk and Moose generally aren't the problem, at least here.

It's all a moot point as of now. Never could get on top of our bills when I started this thread to find the money to spend, and being unemployed the last 8 months has depleted any inkling of "extra" money. Plus where we live now we don't have near the deer on highway problem as in N. Idaho.

Nampa Idaho....closest spot with hotels if you're fishing the Owyhee River, perhaps my favorite fly fishing waters.

This isn't on topic, but, have you fished the Metolius River? Fly fishing only from below the headwaters, where legal fishing starts, down to Lower Bridge Campground.

If you ever get a chance to get to the Metolius area I'd love to meet you and give you a tour through the area. I'm not much at fishing, but it's always an excuse though to go for a drive to an area I love. It's about a 110 mile drive for me so I'd need a heads up.
