Broken Slider bolt

No, there are 3 different pitches of 12mm metric bolt thread, 1mm, 1.25mm and 1.5mm. Hardware store pic-a-pac bolt/nut selection doesn't carry all of those pitches. They will all thread one to a few threads onto each other, but will quickly jam. You need to know the correct pitch, then get the correct helicoil kit.

Has the bolt been drilled out yet?

I have had good luck with left handed drill bits. If it's a through bolt, you might be able to drill from the other side.

Heat the housing up. Just warming it up helps considerably. Get a tap and tap drill the size you need. Be sure to stay centered.

If you warm it up, use Sea Foam also called Deep Creep - same product, different bottle/label. I have had my best luck with that on things I had to warm up

And the penetrant will cool the metal and draw the penetrant into the threads, hopefully.
I once had a froze in bolt and did not have a full size torch. Is what I did have was one of those little hand held blaze king ( i think was the brand name ) torches. That little torch heated the surrounding steel enough to get the steel to smoking, I held the torch around the seized bolt a while longer and it came right out then.

Most recently, I got at least 3 bolts out with old Mapp gas soldering torches. We call them Presto torches. We were out of acetylene for a while. We had acetylene in the big torch set, but the handiness factor was missing. That was the next step if the Mapp gas torches didn't work. Similar to what we used.

I have one of those too. They too work well. I was just surprised that the little Blazer torch would heat that much steel to allow that seized in bolt to release.

I like to use the mapp gas, it gets things HOT quickly! I had seen a little torch set in home depot one day that had a bottle of mapp gas and oxygen cans, little bitty ones that came with a brazing and small cutting tip. it was miniature compared to the oxy/acet torches but looked interesting and very handy. I should have snagged me one but never did. here at work we use propane and oxygen torch sets (big bottles) to cut and braze things.

Not going to start a whole thread for this... Anybody have any idea why the two metal lines coming off my hydroboost are getting seriously hot.. I don't mean warm I mean hot. Not hot enough to burn you but to the point where you don't really want to hold on to it.. I just happen to notice it today. Since the one comes off of the power steering pump I put my finger in the pump fluid and the fluid in the power steering pump was not hot like the hoses..

Mine gets like this as well, are you having any steering or pedal issues like mine seems? my steering has always seemed a little on the stiff side and my pedal is a bid harder to press than other trucks, but I never have been able to find anyone who has a 1 ton gmt400 to compare to. I have replaced all the components the has P/S fluid running through them before only duel to leaking issues in the past. gear box was replaced and had signs of wear (auto parts reman) pulled it and installed a salvage unit that was in better shape! Plus all of the steering and suspension up front has been replaced too. Planning to rebuild the one I pulled at some point since it has a larger piston bore.
