Broke motor mounts, How do you change mounts?

Energy Suspension poly mount # for GMT400 6.5td and 454 is 3.1152R (red) poly only and 3.1152B (black) was billed as being graphite infused.

Some sites still claim that # 3.1116R is for the 6.5 "wrong its for small blocks only."

Rubber mounts ride better but don't last.

I did it by myself in front of the shop with a cherry picker, while it was not fun, it was doable.

On the one I did, I used new genuine GM mounts. Unfortunately both were made in china, but it still seemed like better than usual chinese rubber.

I did it hand tools only, and that right side took a while, IIRC I was going one or two flats at a time. On the one in the frame, I might have used a double box end wrench with a little more angle on the head than the normal combo (IIRC it took a 15 mm? )or I might have used a double box end with the deep gooseneck.

On my '99 Suburban it vibrates like the engine is sitting on the frame rails. My son's '94 has none of that vibration. I'll note that the engine sits low as I had to grind off the lip on the lower fan shroud to accommodate the DMax fan. Sounds like I need to do this job.

LEROY, what do you have for a 1995 gmc 1500 6.5 na? I need tranny as well as the motor mounts. Price? I would of PM'd you but you but I can't figure it out

Just click my avatar then "start conversation"

Well damn, I just checked current pricing with my suppliers and they raised my cost. Mine is about $1.00 less than the Jegs, so by the time I pay shipping to get it here you are better off buying from them.
I'll work on them about that. Usually I can get them down, but it will be Monday.

If a mount is installed wrong, broken or just worn out it will feel like it's sitting on the frame rails because it is. It's a good idea to replace the transmission mount too. 6.5 sitting low then it needs mounts.
Poly mounts will transfer slightly more vibrations than rubber but they last much longer too.

Is there an ES Poly transmission mount?

Are there videos for the engine mount job. How hard is this job?

I got Leroys ES mounts on my '93 4x4. Install was easy, they fit and work perfectly. No vibrations.
I did them when the engine was out though.

Big T,
I made a quick video for my soon-to-come-web site on proper install of Leroys Energy Suspension mounts. I'll try to get it posted today (veeerrryyy slow upload speed) and get a link up.

Absolutely Leroy. I'm very vocal when I find a good business to deal with that I can trust. Just like I'm very vocal when I'm screwed. People need to know where they can go to get good service at a good price.
The only pic I have is the unpainted one in post #32 above.

How long would it take for a shop to change the mounts? I figure two hours without problems
