Correct. The float has a magnet and is the only moving part.

Would this work as a replacement for sending units on boat fuel tanks? I've just about given up on the standard float/arm units. They don't last more than a year or
two.
Many marine tanks these days use magnetic/float TLIs (tank level indicators) I'm used to seeing them on bulk storage & ready service fuel tanks 20-300K tanks; good adaptation of the technology here Leroy, USA sourced or import, USA ones I've seen in past were sky high priced ?
When we would pull & calibrate/test them they would be 20-30 ft long.
Leroy nothing to calibrate here ? or do they operate in same resistive region as GM float full to empty (when the GM one is working correctly that is)
Leroy I just read thru instructions, looks easy enough of an install.
Maybe include a new sock? Does kit included new tank top seal/sealant, also mite want to include in your pictures with instructions how the lock ring works so guys who have never done a sensor swap before know how the lock ring & seal work.
GM & other service manuals assume one has the GM lock ring tool it's not required if you are careful using a dull chisel or brass drift to move the lock ring, brass is my preferred driver, as it's non sparking; which not as much a big deal on a Diesel tank, but could get interesting on a gasser tank steel on steel tools and fuel vapors looking for a spark.
What year models does it fit.
