looking for a 96 up bracket (complete) for the passenger side alt. mount on the 6.5 I dont need the vac pump but I need the complete deal......

And I could use the driver's side dual alternator for a 99 C&C 6.5L C3500

The C&C versions have the locations of the alternator and the compressor reversed from normal C3500 (pickup or Suburban) and, while dual alternator setups were pretty common for these, finding the darn bracket is proving to be a PITA because most parts sites and shops don't know about the reversal, so they try and sell you the passenger side dual aternator bracket.

Just out of curiosity, why do you need the bracket?.....I needed one also from a pretty hard front end collision that I had.

Reason I ask is that it is a pretty beefy chunk of steel that doesn't seem to bend or tweek to easily....BTW, I got mine from another member here that has a few engines (To say the least) laying around.

With all the lights and radio equipment on my truck, as well as future equipment I'm adding, the stock 100amp was laughably small, so I replaced it with a 140 as a stopgap measure. Eventually I'd like dual 200's on it, one for the vehicle systems themselves (including lights) and the other for the auxiliary equipment such as the radios, inverter, aux battery bank, etc.

The truck is my daily driver, and used for my construction business, but it's also one of the response vehicles for the county emergency communications team. Currently it has three radios installed, but the back is being configured for a mobile CP, with at least two and probably four more radios being added. The two side boxes directly over the rear wheels will eventually be twin battery banks, with 4 AGM deep cycle batteries per bank.

It's really puzzling to me why this truck was ordered with the stock 100a alternator. It was a highway service truck down in Florida before I bought it, and that 100a alt wasn't even enough to keep the batteries from discharging while idling on the side of the road with lights and heater on. It should have been ordered with the dual alternator setup straight from the factory.

Dual alternator bracket needed.

This is an old thread, but has good info.
I am looking for the left side alternator bracket used for dual alternator setup OR from my understanding, some C&C, ambulance package setups, or perhaps 3500hd with left side alternator.

The bracket, part #GM10244209 is no longer available from GM. If any one can source me one, I'd buy and reproduce if others need.

Pictures are found in this link:

Even old threads have good info. :)

I still have not found a bracket for mine though, and I really need it now. The truck is up to nine radios now. If you find one fastjohnny, see if they have two.

Fastjohnny,

Did you call gmpartsdirect.com about this item is discontinued...... But it said the same thing when I ordered mine. Google the part numbers I found three sites that it came up. Take the GM OFF THE PART NUMBERS.

gmpartsdirect.com shows all the parts as being in stock. Total of about $150 with shipping to my door. Just waiting for the wife to get her W-2 and file our taxes before I order it and the second alternator.

I just tried them, with no luck. When I search for the bracket, 10244209, I get this:

:nonod:

How are you finding this or able to add it to your cart?

I hate to do this but you can try dieselplace forum.

There is a guy there called GMPartsGuy aka Josh.

His contact info is usually in the Vendor Special (1st item in the 1st section).

If the parts can still be located, he should be able to locate it.
He works in a dealership in the Dallas TX area.

If not, then it is not there anymore.
