I have been looking for an F code chip for my truck so I can get rid of the EGR codes. One of the users here has one for me that is a BPAA chip. Can anybody tell me if this will work in the truck in my signature or what I need to check to make sure?
Thanks,
Bob

I found a green tag on the pump but there is nothing on the green tag. I got it in Feb 2005 but that's all I know right now unless someone can tell me another way to ID the pump? I guess next week I can call the guy that I got the rebuilt one from. I know I had the receipt but I can't find it anywhere.

That chip will work just fine in your truck. I have one that a few people have used, and it works fine in my 94 as well.

in a 95, it doesnt matter what IP you have, becuase the High Flow 5068 only came in 94.

I have a Burb with the 5068 IP

Wish it was somewhere else.

I will likely swap out the IP on that rig at some point in time and then install big exhaust along with the turbomaster and a chip too.

The 5068 was the ODD duckling in the bunch

According to Bill Heath, BPAA is the early code which became BPXW, the most common chip in 1995. Almost every F engine with the 4L80 came with that chip.

Both of these codes are interchangeable.

That is BXPW, which did replace BPAA and BNDJ. BXPW is the latest program made by GM for the 95, it was released in 1996. The main reason for the update was a tranny slow upshift when cold, or stuck in 2nd until it warmed up. I ran the BPAA for a long time and it worked great. Shifting is not as smooth as I got on BXRJ which was actually made for a 94 truck like I have, but some people like firm shifts.

So does it matter if the chip came out of a K3500 (probably with 410 gears) and I have a K1500 with 3:73 gears?

My 95 had a BPAC in it stock, but I noticed the BURBS used a different chip from the trucks. I have a BXPY and an almost new remanufactured PCM from GM here at the house from my BURB.
