Have a couple of question bought some new 80034 Duraterms and when I tried to install them I could not get them to thread in. I did not try a wrench on them but tried a couple of other holes and a couple different glows. It had Delphis in it and they thread right in ,am I just being to cautious?

The other question is I was looking around underneath the truck and it looks like I have a trans bolt that wasn't put back in its just laying on top of the trans. stuck in the fuel line bracket. What do you have to do drop the back of the transmission to get at it?

I was looking at the front of my truck and I thought it looked like my wheels were towed in so I got out my tape and Half arse measured it and it shows it towed in 2'' . I noticed the bearing felt a little loose on the pass side so I pulled the outside bearing out and it looked like it had been running hot, nice blue color. I pulled the hub off and when I tried to take the inside bearing out it fell apart in my hand, real nice. On the way back home from Wisconsin I stopped to fuel up and I checked the air pressure in the front tires cause they looked low and when I laid my hand on the front tires I liked to burn my hand they were so hot probably from the tires being towed in.
At least the bearings and the tires had enough life in them to get me home to Ohio.

When I replaced mine with Bosch, it thread in without any problem. Make sure the angle are correct.
My dad said that on the one that he gets, the 10mm socket does not even fit so he grind them a little.
Mine was not a problem, of course, I was using Harbor Freight chinese made socket so that may be the reason.
The HF socket tolerance was not too good. His is old school Craftsman that is probably older than me.

Well like I say I didn't try a wrench on them ,the socket fits on the glow ok it just seems like it doesn't want to thread in .I think anti seize and a wrench and they should go in, hopefully.

see if the thread will mesh with the old ones when pushed together. They should go in just like the old ones. I'd be really careful you don't want to mess the threads up

Get it aligned and/or fix the front end...
Hot front tires can be from binding brake calipers. This condition can also boil front bearings dry...

You may need to clean the threads for the GP's. There is a tap (I bought one from one of the guys here) to dress those threads. I would not force the GP in any way. If it won't start by turning by hand you need to address the problem or you will have bigger problems.

If your socket causes restrictions, try a piece of hose that will fit snug over the GP and use it as an extension to get them started.

try putting the Glow's in the hole, and turning backwards,, till you feel/hear it click,, the slowly start it forwards again,, I'd get in a thread or 2 be4 I'd put a wrench or socket on there,, or your next post will include the words,,, I F'd up my heads and need a new set, where can I get them? LOL

Yeah I don't know whats up with the glows, the old ones thread right in there ok but it almost seems like the threads on the Boschs are different. I can get them to thread in far enough that they will sit there on their own. I just got home from work, I'm about ready to go out and play with them some more. The 6.2 takes the same glow plug as the 6.5 don't they?

WW the front brakes appear to be ok other than needing a set of new pads. I think the heat might have come from the wheels being towed in that much & that bad inside wheel bearing didn't help matters any either.

Well I've got 7 of the glows in with a little anti-seize and a socket and a little patience and they go right in. I think I might have to either grind a socket or use a 1/4 inch socket on # 8, however I have to say that they are a little tempermental.
