How has everything been going everyone?

Just thought that I would add a up-beat post here. My 6.5 has been running great this year with no problems. Just oil changes and fuel filters everything has been great. This forum has given me the answers I needed when I was having problem and I pretty much have neglected it with my truck running so good. Has been a buzy season here. So haven't had much time on this thing.

I have to admit that I split my loyalty last week with the addition of a 06 ford psd. Only got about 300 miles on it so far, so can't say much yet about it. Just couldn't pass it up only had 16,000 miles on it and got a 5 year/60,000 mile warranty as well. The dealler wasn't going to give me but 1200.00 for the 6.5, so I traded the gasser in on it.

With the cool weather coming hope I can be back on the site more often. Would be nice to know how many other old timer are here as well. Kinda missed the interaction.

Not sure if I qualify as an old timer forum wise but welcome back. I'm pretty much in the same boat, no real issues with the truck other than the Hydrobooster this year. The rest was self inflicted stuff out of morbid curiosity.

Keep hangin' around and before ya know it you are one..:hihi:

Figuratively thinking of course... Literally, I AM an old timer.:D

Sorry i missed the GTG. I would have had the worst beater there by the looks of the vehicles in the pics. next year you will have to send me an invite. don't know how far it is but a few hunderd miles is not far to meet some fellow 6.5ers. looks like it was a good time.

....the addition of a 06 ford psd...

Glutton for punishment aren't you?! A 6.5 AND a 6.0! Good thing it came with a warranty and you've got a back up!

I'm just giving you a hard time. I hope it treats you right. My brother has one and after a couple expensive trips through the shop it's been pretty good for him. My uncle, on the other hand... I met him on the highway friday. Trailering his to the dealer for the 6th or 7th time.

Welcome back. Yeah it seems my 6.5 if it aint broke don't fix it for me right now. Not to say I couldn't fix a few things but if it drives .... drive it is more like it.

Yep thats what folks told me when i bought the 6.5. you know everyone tellin me what a mistake. other than a few minor things it has been a great truck. has done everything I have asked of it.

With this 6.0 only having 16,000 miles on it in the first 5 year and the 5yr/60,000 mile warranty I think i will be good for awhile. this truck has only had oil changes done to it. other than the items listed in the discription. I wish that i would have gotten to the 5th wheel trailer too. but it was spoken for before i got there. the only thing that this truck has been used for is to haul the trailer around for the last 5 years and did that for awhole (did I mention) for 16,000 miles.

Welcome back to The Truck Stop!

Can I ask you a question? Where in the world do you find a five year old truck with only 16k miles!! Who owned it that would drive it 3k miles a year? As I'm sure you already know, keep an eye on the two things that seem to be the burr under the saddle on the 6.0's are the EGR (poor air flow through a square tube) and the lack of head studs compared to the 7.3's which cause the head gasket issues. What are your plans for it? Building it up with big HP/TQ numbers? Just make it a realible DD/tow rig? Or just keeping it stock? Another thing... the 5 yr/60k mile warranty that you got, is that from when you bought or the orginal warranty?

I wish you many happy miles ahead of you with both your 6.5 and your 6.0 PSD.

I live in a small town in Iowa. Were everyone know everyone else and their business as well (if you know what I mean). I originally went to look at the trailer the dealer had on the lot and found the truck. The original PO used the truck and trailer for their vacations and when they weren't being used they were stored in the barn. The truck still has the new car smell in it, but that maybe do to the leather seat.

I will probably leave it stock till the warranty is up. I don't know what kind of mods that I can do to it that wont void the warranty. The warranty started when I bought the truck. So it will probably be awhile before anything is done to it. I plan to use it as a tow truck but I have to find a 5th wheel trailer first. For now it will be a beauty queen, for the 6.5 is my work truck.

I will probably leave it stock as much as possible. My 6.5 is pretty much stock except for the needed mods to make it reliable. I have always had pretty good luck with the odd balls that everyone else has problems with. Me and the odd balls go together pretty well.

Thanks for the well wishes and same to you with your rigs.

Welcome back! Ever since my engine rebuild i have put a wheel bearing, oil changes and two fuel filters in it. Im on the best stretch by far with my rig now, and besides the rust im lovin' it LOL, Little micky d's in there.

Been to Sigourney many a time delivering product to the Subway there. Always kind of tried to eyeball your avatar to lay the of the land there, but never found it as I was driving in/out.

Funny, last week I was looking through OPS mods and saw the one you wrote up and thought, 'I haven't seen the other Iowan on here for awhile.'
If they have another GTG we'll have to hook up and go together.

On the Ford 6.0 side of things, I hope it works well for you. Unfortunately, my brother had an '05 that got rebuilt twice. Just not good luck with that one.

Good to see you around once more.
