There is certainly a line where too much advance is a bad thing. In general the 6.5 really like advance though. When you look at DS4 advance you have to realize its in a camshaft reference, because the IP timing gear runs the same rate as the camshaft. The actual injection advance with respect to the crankshaft is double, because the crankshaft spins twice as fast.

That may be referring to the start of injection when the fuel metering valve is programmed to close, so it may actually inject a little later.
 
Hey rater than derail Big T's thread I posted in the performance catagory under 6.5L where he asks about advance. I think this merits discussion based on the results I have witnessed and some tuner's may find it helpfull.
