Ashland crossover pipe

I hear people praise the Flowmaster kit, and at the current price ($116.99), it's very attractive. But it's only listed as 2.25". The Warpspeed is 2.5".

My question is; would going 2.5" reduce my back pressure driving the turbo? Being bigger, the pressure should be reduced some, no?

There is probably no measureable or noticeable difference using the 2.5" crossover over the 2.25" crossover. The only thing that bothers me with 2.25" crossovers are the ones that come as two pieces, because they dont stretch the OD on one end, they compress the ID on one, so it shrinks it down to less than 2.25" in the middle.

That xover you referenced Matuva is not mandrel bent, it was bent with a pressure puller thing and stretched the metal which make is get smaller in the bends. It may also be negligible difference, but not as pretty for sure. At least they spread the end to one piece to put over the other.

Anybody know why this kit is only listed for 1995 and up? I want to put it on a 94.

Installed Flowmaster 17220 Kit on my brothers 94 K3500 SRW 5 Speed. Had clearance issues with the crossover pipe and the external slave cylinder. Resolved with some localized heating and beating. Nothing drastic, but not a bolt on for his/this vehicle with manual transmission.

I'm reasonably sure the ones from Heath are enlarged vs shrunk IDs on the slip fit so it maintains 2.25" throughout the run, been a while since I installed or looked at mine so memory may be failing me as well.

The flowmaster crossover is one piece. the metal used is very high quality. They don't rust easily and I live in the rust belt. I would never use anything else. I did notice the downpipe does hang a touch lower but didn't have a problem.

Too sad in mexico dont have how make these thinks and the shipping costs a looooooootttttttt more than the piece. Saludos to every one Im new.

I'm new here to this forum and I would first like to say that I am extremely impressed by the amount of helpful knowledge that the members here have. Secondly, I am interested in picking up a new crossover pipe for my 97 K2500 but I can seem to find either the warpspeed or the ashland piece anywhere. Can someone point me in the right direction here? Thanks.

A couple notes on the warpspeed X-over. Good product but the flanges need a little file work (mine at least) because the bolt circle of the manifold is a little bigger than the flanges supplied.

Also be sure to use flanged bolts that are of a smaller hex size. Typical hex for a 10mm bolt is 17mm.. This becomes a real PITA to get sockets and wrenches on. Partly due to the bigger dia. exhaust tube.
