Anyone ever worked on a Buick Rendezvous?

Well I had round 2 with it today. FIXED.

Had a fellow from the Place give me the advice I needed to pull it off. Now lets hope I bled all the air out of the lines. These forums just plain Rock! I'm much braver when armed with good information.
Thanks to all that helped.

Glad you got 'er done, pal!

I stayed out of this one, Gerald, because I've never been under the hood in one of those, and it looked like the boys were giving you enough abuse without me chiming in... :D

But I gotta say, given the title of this thread, that Tiger's wife Elin has done some work on a Rendezvous... with a 3-iron :)

LOL I'm a little late on this one.:mad2:

Yes, i've worked on a few too many of those littl gems:icon_bs:. Actually its not too bad to change the t-stat on a 3.4. It can actually be done with the exhaust left intact, but its a tight fit. I've done it before, however, I've also had alot of practice in taking short cuts. Sorry for not chiming in earlier. Glad you got er did though.

One of my step daughters had one for about 18 months and they had a lemon so they got rid of it and bought a caravan I think and as far as I am concerned they just traded payments on a vehicle. It is always in the shop as well.

I remember reading something a couple years ago about one of the Ford F series where you had to actually take the cab off the frame to do some kind of repair/maintenance on the engine.

Power steering on my impala is impossible to check without taking the coolant reservoir off first. Helps to have a cold engine too since your arm is reaching down behind the engine. Had to buy a new funnel with about a 2 foot long reach to add any if the level gets low.

on fords they pull off the cab/front body all the time

Sorry i didnt see this sooner either but Yes, you can change that thermostat without pulling the pipe. Can be done in about 30 minutes after you have done it several times. I used to make good money on these when i was flat rate, same with intakes. I used to do car intakes in 2.5 hrs, vans took me almost 3hrs.

buick rendezvous intake gasket, egr inaccessible

I'm in middle of trying to replace my intake gasket on my 2002 Buick Rendezvous, and hit a snag... I can't seem to access the EGR bolts which seems to be holding down the upper plenum. The coil bracket is still on but the two bolts are out, the map sensor is still on it. The Atf dipstick seems to get in the way of accessing the egr tube bolt too, if I were to try to remove that one too. Am I supposed to rotate the engine? Or do I need to remove cowl? Is there a special tool to access the EGR bolts? I noticed Woodchuk2 did this job in 2.5 hours, so maybe you remember the way to remove the EGR to get the plenum off. Thanks in advance to anyone who can assist.

I feel for ya. I hope I never have to do mine.

Well should I start a new thread...or bug you guys for more info?

I'm gonna be buying new tires in the next week or so and I'm thinking of replacing the bushings in the rear knuckles. My rear tires are worn un-even and from what I've read, the knuckles are to blame.

Anyone of you guys done this? Help?

Thanks again guys.
