Any GM Techs got an idea on this?!

the sdm should be re-learned using the trucks 2002 bcm,i put used sdms in all the time and just do a set-up to change the vin,i think you need to do a sps/tis reprogram of the bcm,but i will try to scan a 2001 2500hd at work tomorow

Either way I hook everything up, I'm using the same SDM, which is original to the truck.

Well if I put my original (2002) BCM in the truck the airbag light is off, but that BCM isn't programmed for the options in the truck that I want.

If I put the parts truck (2001) BCM in the truck the airbag light is on, but the options I want work.

So if I use the 2001 BCM I can have it programmed for my SDM by the procedure you describe?
