Another one for the parts pile

I drug home another parts truck this past weekend:rolleyes5: It's a 97 k2500hd ,6.5, 4l80e, ex-cab, sb, 3.70 gears, tow package and overhead console.
It had been canibilized for the front clip, rad,bumpers,seats, passenger door, and carpet.
The seller said the bottom end gave out. Bad noises. He was the original owner. In the last 40k it had new heads and ip. He had slips for $4300 for parts and labor. The truck has 304,000 on it.
I should be able to harvest quite a few good parts like the k47 airbox:thumbsup: 8 blade fan, heads,ip and 3.70 axles to swap out the 4.10s in one of my other trucks.
Not much to look at.Any of the body that's left is rusty.

Sorry, That has a home in my 95 ex-cab.
There's lots of them at my local junkyard. They have a couple dozen subs with them. I could fetch you one if none are available in your area. I take it you subs don't have them?

I have one in my Suburban, but the first door from the front has broken its hinges and is no longer in place. How hard is it to pull that console? Can you describe it's removal? Wifey would like this repaired. Undoubtedly many in local wrecking yards.

Not really selling any of the parts at this time. When I do they will be in the classifieds here 1st. K47 has a home also. I need 2 more to have them on the whole fleet.

... How hard is it to pull that console? Can you describe it's removal?

Remove one philips screw at the front edge, pivot it down and pull forward slightly. The rear is just two tabs that slide out of slots int he roof inner skin. disconnect the connectors for the lights and lower away. The rear view mirror usually need to be rotated down and out of the way.

The doors are held in by their hinge points and just need a little fiddling to get them out and in. Careful, they're easy to break if forced too hard.

Big rust hole on passenger side rocker/cab corner. Box is rusty underside. Not worth fixing.
It does have a aluminum rear driveshaft:thumbsup:
engine trans-tc should be out tomorrow night unless i go look at another truck.:rolleyes5:

I just replied on 2 K2500 trucks. A 97 and a 98. Both are 6.5s . One has a shot tranny , the other has a tranny leak. Only 30 miles away. Hope to look tonight or tomorrow. The guy with the 95 1/2 ton[bad ip?] hasn't gotten back to me yet.

That fan Clutch any good?.....Oh wait, same problem I have the 9 blade and the D-Max blade only bolt up to 97 and up....96 and your S.O.L.

Got the engine/trans/ transfer case out today:thumbsup:.Engine hoist works better than my new forklift. This thing had enough leaks that most of the bolts and fuel lines came off easy.:thumbsup:
No clues yet why it blew up or what happened.:???:

ok, not as bad as I imagined Kinda looks like our barnyard. At least everything is on a rolling chasis. My last purchase landed me that cab on blocks.....bit more of an eyesore than all of the trucks haha
