Another HID light post for 6.5's Make your truck look like it has factory fog lights.

Yea, I was'int possitive. Just seemed like I saw them. My old 93 was 2wd and I added the tow hooks to it and the air dam at the same time w/out fogs. Could have swore I saw them with both factory.

Only trucks that I've seen stock, with the OEM fogs and OEM switch are either 454SS or sport models, 2wd 1/2ton regular cab short boxes. So, I did a little digging. Factory fogs on GMT400 trucks is a pretty rare option, mostly because it was only offered as part of the Sport Equipment Package. The EPC states they are for C1(03-53)(BYP): this equates to C1500 (C1), regular cab pickup (03) or extended cab pickup (53), Sport Equipment Package (BYP). They were only available 1989-1997 oddly enough. So, they were ever only factory installed on 1/2ton, 2wd sport pickups; no 4wds, no 3/4 or 1-tons, no SUVs (except the unique foglights on Z71 and Limited Tahoes, and the Denali/Escalades, which carry their own unique RPO Y91 (luxury) and TL1 (special front end) respectively).

FWIW I do know on the foglight airdam, there is an outline where the towhook holes WOULD have been cut out. I'm not sure if the smooth or towhook airdamn has the outlines or not, as my 88 never had factory towhooks and I didn't know to look when it had the smooth airdam (before I ripped it off that is).

Speaking of fog light switches, on my first 93 I bought a stock one for it at dealer. (Its actualy 2 switches) anyway I used it for a starter kill switch. Had it wired though the brake light switch, so I had to step on the brake then push the fog light switch, that activated a mechanical latching relay to interrupt the circuit. In order to start the truck you had to step on the brake, push the button again then the truck was normal and would start with the key.
Because it was a factory switch a thief would not notice it, or know to hit the brake to activte the switch.

That's brilliant. (first thought that came into my mind)

If I'm at all worried about where I leave my truck, I just pull the injector fuse. Thought about wiring a switch to it from behind, but leave the fuse there.

Not that many would be able to get past my alarm wiring..... it's so integrated it's retarded...
