Am I on the right track? Help the new guy out...

RC... all 6.5s have a cat, and by that I mean they have a soot trap. it isn't really a cat. If people want to be sticklers, they all need a cat, but for most seeing the 2500 and above badge is enough.

Really? I thought for sure I saw somewhere that most older "F"s don't, but most newer ones did. Hmmm. Learn something every day.

Depends on where you get 'em... mine was blank. Older F trucks up here are usually missing that newfangled anti-pollution stuff.

Yea, i guess i wasnt specific enough, and every time you make a "every single..." comment about a GM vehcile, you find out they made a half dozen that defy the rule!! As for the states, maybe the much older 6.5 in the F trucks didn't have the soot trap, but I know that they were on all of the later ones, regardless of vin. IN THE UNITED STATES. hahaha cuz again, ALWAYS the exceptions.

Who says they don't 'custom-build' vehicles anymore? :D

I know what ya mean... there's always something else. Ever seen a vehicle from California? My cousin had a T-bird, maybe a 76 or 77... that thing had about 2000 lbs of anti-pollution crap on it. I'm SURE it had spark plugs, but damned if I could see 'em.

Get back up here to Calgary and look at my neighbor's Tbird, same year... nothing. None of that stuff.

Had more power, got better mileage, too. Go figure...
