Your parts guy at ADVANCE must not be that good at using his terminal. I know it's a bit late, but here it is.

And Buddy, GM changed the alternators in 96 when they moved it to the other side. 96-00 was the CS-130D, 01+ is the AD230 which looks almost identical, but is improved internally. The AD244 is the next generation of the CS-144, but it is built like the CS-130D and AD-230. The AD244 came in 130 and 145 amp versions stock from GM, but many have been checked and put out upwards of 200 amps until they get hot.
