has anyone used 1 on a 95 burb?....if so which 1 did you get?....i haven't crawled under to see the line size's.....line size would be good too...

thanks

This would only work if you completely removed the ABS as the factory proportioning valve is part of the ABS assembly.

Does anyone know if the OBD-2 program gives you access to the setting for the factory proportioning valve? It's supposed to have some extra functionality or higher function access than a lot of code readers out there.

i changed the portioning valve and i have rear brakes now....this is the valve i used....ACDelco 12548265

and yes you can change the 1 on the ABS....the ABS now works in the rear....this thing has never stopped this good and no front dive......3 allen screws and 2 lines and bleedin' makes life grand!!!!

here is where i found it for $122.60 free ship....http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000S2RYZE/?tag=jhuntlink-20

Is your prop valve built into the abs module or is it stand alone?

it bolts into the ABS....follow the 2 lines from the master cylinder and you'll find 3 allen screws in a triangle pattern....remove the 3 screws and 2 lines and unplug then warning light plug then pull it out of the ABS.... assemble in reverse order....then bleed the whole system....

Wow, I might look into this. Good price too, rockauto has it for 183bux.

Is it adjustable or just gives a higher percentage of rear usage?

little warm in Indiana right now for snow...but works good on gravel......just put it in...i'll let you know this winter:thumbsup:

:) Ha! I pulled this thread up from a few pages I never checked the date ...

I would have to think with all the weight on my truck in winter the rears would never lock up first. It would be HORRIBLE if they did. I have some nasty nasty hills around here.

Then again, in 4x4 they will NEVER lock up unless you really hammer the pedal, as the front traction helps keep the rears from locking up.

I wonder if my 97 is the same system. Any chance you can snap a picture or 2?

Basically the stock valve cut the rear brakes at 600 PSI and the updated one goes to 800 like the trucks did. There is also an updated set of rear shoes that you can get from GM that will also increase rear braking. Add in the stainless braided lines and you'll really have brakes.

So this is for the burbans, Swapping to this proportion valve wouldn't help me, I may already even have it?

Here is an article on it that references the TSB put out by GM.

Does indeed work on the Burb also with the FF axle. Note it will not work on the SF axle because the referenced replacement valve is already used on trucks with that axle.

Cheers
