A Team Turbo A Year Later

Do yall have a ballpark figure of what the new one "should" be worth?? i.e. Power and torque? Along with a Guestament on price?

Need a few thousand more miles on the engine before I can get at it and put it on the rollers! The trip to Bonneville will give me the added miles. So it will be October for me also. The dyno shop nere here is $90 an hour and I will be on the rollers for quite a while. First test with the GM8, second with the A Team Turbo, and the third test will be with......................?

nitrous):h

Pane?? Oooo Nitrous and Pane..??????

Of course that could be the end of the block too though.

Other than $$$ do you think theres any performance gain with it?

with what an ATT ? if that is the question, yes is the answer,

How much I've never run it on a dyno or against a timer on a track to quantify the improvement, but take a ride in an ATT equipped truck with a reflash and you will notice it's got the goods.

That said the ATT was never built for perfomance, it was set up as towing improver, but side benefit is that when empty you have some decent performance gain as well.

I think TD's truck would surprise a stock LB7, might not beat it, but it would be in the same general vicinity.

Once I finally get started on my swap, I going to be looking for about a 60/40 performance vs reliability ratio in my bronco. I'm figuring the ATT will probably be the best bang for the buck, so to speak in that area.

I'll soon be adding WMI to my setup, Bill Heath recommends water only, Ian formerly of Heath ran his truck with a GM turbo 303 rwhp record setting dyno for the 6.5 we've seen on the forums thus far was running methanol in his WMI, plus pane, plus nitrous, said he had fuel needed more air, told me he wished he had ATT at the time.

Ted aka 635 will be running similar once his new engine gets some more "seasoning" should make bigger numbers as he's had some other bells and whistles added but he can go over that in another thread, but I expect that numbers with ATT will surpass Ian's benchmark by a pretty good margin.

I just had 3 out of 5 tires fail on my trailer so I gotta get all new including spare for it before I can find the $ to play on the dyno.

I've got a WMI setup to install also but it will more than likely be spring before I get around to getting that done.

Would the current ATT be "upgradeable" to ball bearings?

NO, and I am not sure that there will be a ball bearing turbo yet, I may have to pay for an engineering change and I am not sure how much that will add to the turbo cost, I don't think the ball bearing option would add much more performance. There are other things that will add more power for a more reasonable cost, that is in the works :D, proto type is almost complete.

I was going to get one but I'll wait for the result of the trials on the prototype. Thanx for the heads up on the prototype.

There will not be a change to the A-team Turbo, and I doubt that the ball bearing cartridge will be a production run any time soon if at all. There is not that much of a gain to be cost effective.

The proto type I spoke of is not a turbo upgrade or a turbo, The proto type I created is of another part that will possibly give our engine better performance and fuel economy. This part is a long way off from becoming usable as of yet. So if you want a turbo buy one when you can.

Thanks for kind words Dennis ;)

I've been reading with great attention posts of new owners of the ATT.
I'm pleased to see you all confirm this turbo is a winner.

I get mine till several months now, and I'm still happy with it, still the same reasons to get satisfied :
  • well designed kit, all you need is right to your hand : perfect bolt-on
  • increased mileage
  • lower EGTs
  • cheaper than a stock GM-x and more efficient;
  • makes your rig rumbling as a 454 :D

can't tell you more. With the ATT, you can't be wrong.

I miss read the post :mad2:, and thought it'll take a few month's to save up anyway.
