97' 4l80e not down shifting properly

Ok so riddle me this. I changed the brake light switch tonight ..AGAIN...only drove the truck for about 20 minutes after but it seems to have fixed the down shifting problem.. and it takes off like it should now, which is awesome.. however.. that's the third brake light switch I have put in it in the past 2 months. Granted the first one I put in was generic..but the last one I put in was AC Delco and the one I put in tonight is ACDelco..every time I change it the truck runs great for a while. So we will see how long this one lasts. The strange thing is upon examining the one I took out tonight it doesn't make the clicking sound anymore when you push the little metal tab. It did when we put it in. I don't remember about the one before that if that one did it or not. I've always been told that that's a way to know it's working if when you hear it clicking when you let off the pedal. I personally don't understand the mechanics of how the switch works inside, or what it is inside that actually makes the sound. I'm not sure if I'm just having a string of bad luck and getting faulty switch's, or if there is something else going on that is making them go bad.
Maybe I should just pretend that they are p.m.d's and carry a handful of them in the glove box..lol

The brake light switch has 3 sets of contacts in it. Some are normally open, some normally closed. I don't recall the clicking but you should be able to test it. Does seem strange to have so many go bad. Maybe open the old one and see if you can tell which one failed and if it failed mechanically or if something is getting fried.

I wonder if there is something in one of the three circuits that is beginning to fail and drawing to many amps ?
Especially the TCC solenoid.

I kept the old one . it cost me more to drive to AutoZone to get a refund since it's under warranty then the dang thing cost. So I'll have to open it up and take some pictures
