96 S10 with VW Diesel and GM 5 Speed

Neat conversion. I wonder what MPG he gets. I would have thought that would have been a nice attention getter.

Gotta agree w/ Schiker, should list mpg. Trying to get a high dollar value for something out of the ordinary, you have to list all the details; Show the work quality; stress reliability of that new drivetrain.

I don't think you have to be crazy Eddie from the crazy car show, but pitchmen are there for a reason.

It's not just the stacks though. How much to redo exhaust $400? The interior of the truck is clean and so is the body if you ignore the exhaust.

Look at the engine pic. It's like you have a plate of spaghetti using 6 different size noodles. It's like a hose supply shops trash dumpster.

Custom is an abused word. Custom is a possibly 1 off build that when finished, can be appreciated for its craftsmanship regardless if you like the concept itself or not. This is not a custom build. This is :shove in whatever parts you have laying around to make it work.

Custom is making custom ac lines to route properly and cleanly. Don't get me started on the air intake Mess of parts from a junkyard. What the hell are all those exposed, tangled wires laying all around near the master cylinder.

He can't sell the truck at that price because it's a junkyard throw together that if was worth a crap he'd put more than 5,000 miles on it himself if it were worth keeping. No one wants to rip apart someone else junkyard project to have to redo it themselves.

If anyone is ever building a 1 off or custom, if it isn't ready for a magazine shoot- you failed.

I wouldn't say mine was fit for a magazine shoot when I was done with mine. It was all functional and looked like a concept job IMHO, but not a magazine shoot worthy piece. Sometimes there is only so much you can do when doing a swap, but it should at least all work and not look like it's shadetree'd together.
