been driving me nuts
tried everything
i went under it and tried to find anything lose or will make the noise
but nothing

the sound comes after the car has warmed up,, the sound was making me crazy to the point i figured it was an indication that the car is warm and ready

after shifting,, it disappears it will not come back if shifted back in park

u have to get the car cold and then warm it up to get the sound again

transmission oil need to be changed,, it smells bad but still red and got some Viscosity still
it shifts nice too

I would take the lower part of the bell housing off and have a look in there. It's just 4 bolts. It sounds like a saw, so maybe something is touching the teeth on the flex plate.
 
i got the four bolts out
they were torqued in there pretty good

but i cant get the plate out due to the Y exhaust

is there a trike to get it out without removing the exhaust?
 
Can you move it out enough to look in with a light?

Could be the pull in winding on the starter isn't holding, and the bendix is touching the gear.
 
starter is not touching the flex plate

tried to shake the bell housing cover since i cant get it out but nothing is sitting in it

flex plate and torque convertor looks normal
 
well i put everything back together this morning and gave the starter a couple of taps by the hammer and cranked it up and let it idle a bit

after it warmed up the sound came back
so i went under it and pin pointed where it was coming

it was from the transmission it self from the rear part of the pan

i already have this week off so i can change the transmission oil and filter since it never been changed by me

i'm the second owner maybe but i doubt it the first owner had it changed once

ok i'm scared
lets face it the transmission is toasted especially in this weather (desert of Saudi Arabia)


the sound is only at idle and coming from the rear part of the pan, would that tell if its a critical component (u can hear the sound from the video)
the sound gets louder as the car warm up
and it shifts perfectly
oil is normal color and has some Viscosity in it but smells bad
 
Don't waste the money on an oil change - it won't fix it. Take it to a trans shop and see if they know.
You may have something bad wrong in the trans. Something metal on metal like a spun bearing or debris in the pump.
But, why the rear of the trans? As only things in the front are rotating in park.

It is possible you have a heat shield or something else vibrating/rattling/squeaking. Muffler comes to mind.
 
but car only has 125k and was taking care of since i got it at 80k 10 years ago and the sound was there since i got it at 80k

and the noise is coming from the rear of the transmission as i was directly under the transmission
