'95 started stumbling

Something to do with messing up the AM radio signal.
GM said to remove them too.
 
That is the only thing they do is stop the interference reception for am radio, and create fuel supply problems. If you listen to am a lot and the added static bothers you, there are a ton of filters for under $20 online that do a better job.
