My goodness, time flies. So the latest with the explorer. Figured out the engine shake about a month ago. It always helps when a V-6 is actually using all 6 cylinders. It's been a V-5 for who knows how long. New ignition module, spark plugs/wires and this thing is running smooooooth. Gee, can you tell which plug had not been firing??
I also tracked down why the AC was inoperative. Cracked line on the evaporator core, most likely from the engine shaking so much. So new core, accumulator, orifice tube, lower return hose, and o-rings. This thing can freeze me out now with it being 98 degrees outside!!! Not the most difficult job removing the blower assembly, but I'd rather not do it again.
And the icing on the cake this weekend. Went to the junkyard to get a new turn signal arm and saw a recent addition '93 Explorer to the lot that had a center console with cupholders!!!! If you scroll up to my other pics you'll note my explorer had a 60/40 front seat with no cupholders. Booo. Well, Not anymore! Center console and drivers seat out of the '93, armrest and lid for the center console out of a '95. Drill a few holes to mount the brackets and TADA!!
