94 C3500 350 converted to a 96 C3500 6.5

Mine is a factory C2500 C&C according to its VIN and the code sheet in the glove box. Remember I said earlier that the ECM and PROM were a rare, application-specific, GM part number that had to be special ordered and took a week to get to the dealer? It has a governor set at 82mph where it defuels regardless of gear. 3:42 open differential matches the axle tag and the RPO #. The rear of the frame has the mounting points for the 30 gallon rear tank option. This truck originally came from East Texas, where it was set up as most likely a pipefitter's welding truck for the oilfields or refineries, based on the numerous and assorted fittings, valves, accessories and tools I found in the eight compartments (Imagine my surprise to find the hidden latch in the center compartment on each side that released the top of the side box to reveal a full-length 8'x18"x6" box compartment on top and both full of most of the goodies, including a brand new fall harness!) There were signs of where the mounts for a welder/generator and air compressor were each bolted to an inner wall of a compartment and through the bed on each side up front. As @Will L. said above, they sold true C2500 C&C's at their dealership. They're designed to be upfitted with service or utility bodies for "lighter" duty use.

Just bought the project.

95 c2500 370k mile chassis, 110k on a gm crate engine, 20k on the 4l80, and 5k on the rear end. Runs and drives decent.

I'm swapping the cab, hood, core support, radiator, AC condenser, and engine over to my 94 C3500 chassis then making a pickup bed trailer with the 95 c2500.
