94 6.5 diesel K3500 died going down the road. Will not restart. It died like it was

I have cables that do not make as good as connection in that particular plug as others.

After swapping several harnesses and PMD's, We never thought about this being the issue either. That's why it was at this end of the check list.

I was also confused about the configuration of the pins on the plug and did not know they were labeled on some plugs.

The plug the extension harness plugs into tested good. and the harnesses all tested good for continuity. I think it was the D pin that was not making good connection in the socket.

I had one of the short harnesses from the intake PMD days, plugged it it between the 2 harnesses and everything was good.

I know we tried at least 3 extension harnesses and PMD's before we moved on to checking other stuff. Let that be a lesson to me. Get the dang old tester out and make sure you have juice at the PMD. We tested everything else for weeks on end. LOL

Glad I didn't take some people's suggestions and just swap out the injection pump. That would have cured the problem, because I would have changed that harness when I swapped the pump. But I would never have known the real issues and my pocket would have been lighter than need be.

Glad you got it. This got me to thinkin...(everybody run for cover)

Could someone like ,I dunno Leroy, make and sell a little male to female connector that has a probe-able cover? Or if it was built into extension harness where it plugs into pmd? I know it's not all the time, but if a simple multimeter test at pmd could be checked it might help with diagnostic for every time a pmd is suspect.

I still can't believe no one has made a briefcase sized pmd that is bulletproof yet (says the guy who has a hard time loading pics). Don't ask me how I'm just the idea guy, I leave that to someone who knows what he's doing.

I agree 100%. Especially the "glad you got it" part!

Seemed to me that somebody should be able to make an indestructible PMD
