So, it's possible to just slap one of those in then, since the 510 already has a shield (assuming it wouldn't need additional work on the shield).
I'm assuming the small size makes them run hotter and thus is the shorter life?
You can get 27w ballasts IIRC, they aren't that common though.
btw Nick, I really really think you have 520 Lights, and not 510's. It's always bothered me, and I never Said anything, but they just Look wayyy too Big in your Pics to be 510's.
You're probably right. I bought them second hand.
And I'm quite possibly retarded.
Yeah, after looking at the 520s on their website, I bet the H3C is the only way to go for them.
If your using them as an aux driving light, you most likely just slap them in there. If you want them on with other cars around, they might need some work. If you want to run that H3C bulb, here is a place that sells the 25w ballasts. His reputation is pretty stellar and his warranty is great from what I've heard, but that also makes his prices a little higher.

Why?
I've never bought from him personally, but he's a vendor over on GMFS and tons of people buy from him without problem. I've heard good things.
To me, pretty much all the aftermarket HID kits are the same. They are all made overseas.
Yeah, it's just marketing. Bosch, Hella or Phillips do not make conversion HIDs or ballasts. I did catch that his listings say "not Philips Patent bulbs, but do have Philips Patent Ballasts" which is deceiving yet probably true, if they are a copy of the Phillips technology.
 the ballasts I got from you said "Hella Technology" on them.
Yeah, I know. He's deceiving buyers by putting the Phillips logo on his capsules, ballasts and instructions, when it's only partially true (if they are Phillips technology).
