I've had the GMT800 dually clearance light on my 88 since about 2003. they are so sleek on these trucks and IMO look great.
As far as the 1-piece center cablights, they were only on the GMT800 and GMT900 trucks, and in either case, I don't care for them. I like my 5-piece lights on the roof.

Figure, cool to be a matching set.......A one piece up front and down back.....Just a thought, I'm kinda fine with my factory cab lights myself, but wouldn't mind the cleareance light......They would even look good on my ford flatbed/rollback, that I just replaced a set.

Well, the GMT800 cablights IMO, are way too large looking. They are very round. The GMT900 lights are VERY sexy, and LED, but I just couldn't bring myself to put the 1-piece in the middle. Plus I really do prefer the size/shape of the GMT400 cablights.

I like the trailer plug location. Did that to my '84 when I had it. Protects it from damage I believe. I see wayyy to many of those on the GMT 800's that are damaged because of the shitty location.

I do agree it's nice and protected there, I just think it looks a bit out of place on this bumper. I do like the GMT900 bumpers with the plug in the bumper itself.
On my 88, the plug is under the hitch, but it's tucked up pretty far out of the way.

Well, I finally talked to my mom and broke the news that I bought a 3rd truck. Needless to say, she was quite unhappy about it.
I was told that it was the "stupidest thing I have ever done." I figure that means I haven't done many stupid things........
Anyway, making me re-consider the purchase. I knew they wouldn't be for it anyway, Dad hates IDI diesel trucks, mom thinks I'm being stupid having 3 trucks and the fact that they cost money. Idk, they bring me joy...

My dad likes 6.5's since Ol' Blue treated him right back in the day but my parents are against modifying vehicles.
According to them my Z71 is ruined due to straight pipe, new injectors, and tuner. It has been having PMD problems but if that is the only REAL PROBLEM it has then I can deal with that.
They flipped when I bought my 93 but I need a HD reliabe work truck. Mech IP and the engine that makes me smile makes it worth every penny.

my whole familly told me i was nuts when i bought my dually, mainly cause it dont run....... but it will i just got to build a motor for it. I allready had 2 truck and they dont see what good a 3rd is just like yours. but the way i see it is i aint using there money to buy them i put my sweat into making the money so i can spend it how i want!.... plus the dually was just way to good a deal to pass up

My Gpa called me the other day and asked me to build him a 6.5 for his wheat truck so I might not have to pay for my first engine build
Working out a rough estimate now since we dont even have a good block to start with yet. Gotta make sure he really wants to go through with it.

I really like the GMT900 LED's as well. I was wondering how it would look using 3 single lenses in the middle in place of the bar. Lenses might still be too big for the older style trucks.

Haha my parents gave up a long time ago. I was turning over so many vehicles, no one could keep track of them. But all the time it was a learning experience, I made money most of the time, but have been burned on a few. Mangus has a good point....you could be spending you time and money on alot worse of things. I too enjoy wrenching on things in my spare time, and for the most part it has kept me out of trouble..and out of the bars. Instead my barn turns into the local bar
I wouldnt re-think that purchase one second, thats a clean truck that you could always re-sell easily if shit hit the fan

thats the way to look at things these days if you cant bail out and sell something for at least what you have into it, its to big of a risk.
iv got 2 horses that i dont ride due to lack of time and im constanly spending money for board, $300 a month, and i cant sell them casue horses aint worth shit these days.

I totally agree. If I HAD to, I could sell either this or the 02 (probably the 02 first since it's the least useful to me). For what I paid for this truck, I could almost double my money by taking it to western washington and selling in that market, so I'm not worried about it really. Both the 88 and 02 are paid for, this one is on payments but they are only $114/mo. My bike is for sale and I also bought it CHEAP, i'm probably going to get 1k more for it than I paid if i wait till riding season.

ChevyCowboy.....Here in CT/NY the horse industry is still a huge money maker. Yes the cheaper horses are a tough sell, but there is a ton of money in the high-end market. The barn that my girlfriend manages charges a monthy board of over $2600/mo. Keep in mind these critters are worth up to half a million
Little bit more expensive than your 300/mo. Horses are very similar to buying and selling cars/trucks. Lots of risks to take, but alot of money to make if it is done right. Ok sorry for the hi-jack....now back to trucks
