7.9 MPG. Need to get better MPG! What can I do? ATT?

Yeah the AZ cities we get to visit...

Payson elevation is 4887.
Phoenix is just over 1100 feet above sea level.

I doubt we have winter fuel. But they may in Payson.

I will put timing check on the to do list.
It may have a power problem.

I was at not as exact calculation of 8.2-8.9 MPG yesterday. Driving different.

Today after the 7.3 Ford guy suggested I had a :9898: 6.5... Well I passed a broken down later model Dodge. Hmmmm more than one :shiiiiiite: around. I didn't have the last laugh as I had to go back and get the stuff from the Dodge... Co-worker. Stuff was shoved in the front seat, trailer 100% full to the roof, bed full, tires strapped to the hood.

4 Wheel Low is a hill climbing gear below 30 MPH. Ran cooler doing that anyway.

Maybe a clunker but it is still moving.

With your fuel turned up on the 4911 i'd go for more boost, bump it up to around 10psi. With more fuel and the stock 5psi that these trucks had it's begging for mor air. When i turned up my '93 1/3 turn i fabb'd a turbo master bumped that to 11psi and my milage went up several mpg while towing. I pull a dual axle car trailer usually around 9000lbs, get 13.5 pulling that brick around. lol I've got 4.10's, 4L80E DWR exended cab truck.

If you have a cooling problem thats something to troubleshoot. Running 35 actually should make your cooling worse than at 55mph, seeing as you need the fan engaged to get good enough flow through radiator. At higher speed you will get more air flow. That truck should be able to pull 10K lb without a problem, unless there is a problem with it.

The free fan clutch mod is better than the clutch upgrades from vendors. The new types of fans are likely better though.

And running 35mph is less efficient than 55mph as well.

Make sure your LP is working during operation and under load while driving.

An ATT will help a lot if Power, IATs and EGTs are your problem under load. If you have a cooling system problem should fix that first.

Think he was trying to list cities in Arizona.

those would be the only areas in AZ that would get and stay cold enough in the winter for winter fuel..........

Just dropped a used Kennedy fan clutch and 20" steel fan in from another member here. (And a new temp sensor.) This allowed me to maintain 65 MPH vs. the 60 MPH on the same climb. So getting hot has a lot to do with available power even on a DB2 without defuel BS.

I should have a turbo master arriving today.
