6.5TD has its own page??

some of us are members there. thats where i started and a another memeber told me bout this site and i moved there is much more info here and that site is sponserd by walt from SSD he dosnet like any disscusion of other parts than what he sells

:iagree:

My story is the same found him first but I have seen the light and very rarely do I even look over there. I have posted a few things there to try and help others see how green things are on this side of the fence. There is diffently NO BETTER SITE.......or BETTER PEOPLE ANYWHERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:smile5:

I saw that page way back when the first time I made the mistake of going on to SSD's website and seeing the forum thing. Looked at it once and never looked back. He has no influence over anybody else on these other sites like here and the Place, so he starts his own website and has himself as an admin I understand. Basically, if you try to promote another product, talk down his products, or do anything he doesn't like, "mysteriously" it disappears. Sometimes even the members "disappear"

You guys in the NE and your Mafia.:D

i still go there to do some things:
1) watch members scold M123K450 for his hatred for the 6.5L
2) answer a few newbie questions (as in casually steer away from walt and to Heath! :) )
3) send PM's to tell a few good well mannered 6.5L devotees that this place exists
4) tell everyone possible that walts cooler is good only if it is relocated (cant outright call it crap, as i would disappear as well!)

otherwise, not much is done there, as I like this forum much better, as well as the community, you guys are like a second family.

I actually purchased Walt's cooler and then purchased an extension cable from Kennedy. Then I found Bill Heath's site. The Tahoe has Heath's setup. The burb has Walt's cooler with Kennedy's extension and is mounted under the front bumper. I did the FSD installation and sealing myself (used Marine Goop). I think that Heath's setup in general is superior, but think that Kennedy's extension harness is better than Heath's. Walt actually had a custom molded plug commissioned for his harness to take care of the female connector. It really is well done.

Neither vehicle has has a speck of FSD trouble since I bought them (note this was the 1st reliability mod I did to both rigs).

Yeah Heaths earlier cable connector left alot to be desired. Of course he was the first to sell one so plugs were not availible AFAIK .I think he now uses the right plug but i Had the 1st gen with the two female to female with the pins and shrink wrap and it was a royal PIA to get togeteher. It worked fine once together. Make no mistake, PMDs IMHO all fail sooner or later no matter where you mount them but the remote last longer and Heath warranty's his. My Heath one failed on the trucks current owner about 3 yrs after install. Not sure if anybody has had any failed Dtechs yet. But even if you get 3 yrs out of a PMD and have to spend 200$ for another one, is that really that big of a deal ? How many Chevy Distributors failed ? My old ford with the 351M, Heck I carried a spare Ign module under the seat. My .02

Mikey will eventually get kicked out of life if he isn't careful....I can see him getting into some pretty good bar fights with his mentality...

That name seems familiar. Was he, by chance, over at the place? I recall someone with a user name like that(or very similar to it) that always caused trouble over there. Never really seemed to support the 6.5. I don't recall him "bashing" it per-say, but his avatar was a tan Cummins short block and he jumped on every chance to suggest ditching the 6.5 to go to something else(especially the Cummins).

Am I thinking of the same person or is it just another knuckle head?

I think I'll stick to the tts.us forum. I like it better here :)

Well I'm no longer allowed there since I started telling folks about the negatives of his PMD "solution" friends don't let friends buy a SSD remote mount especially when seller mandates in order for it to be warrantied, it must be mounted in the 2nd worst place possible marginal improvement over the original location, and sometimes failing sooner than if left on the IP

I've never really understood the beating ole Walt takes here and at the place. I'm not trying to stick up for him or anything but the few parts I've bought from him were all quality stuff and priced very reasonable. He knows his stuff when it comes to the 6.5 and was very helpful....granted, I have no idea why he sticks to his guns regarding the intake mounted PMD....but fortunately for me, I own a DB2 pump :D

As far as his website...well, it's different than these sites...it's for his business and is sponsored by him only I'm guessing. If TTS was owned by...say, Bill Heath, he probably wouldn't like the members selling their remote PMD kits here (for less money to boot)

Again, I don't know enough to really comment much on this topic (so please don't bash me over the head). Maybe somebody can 'show me the light' and tell me something really horrible Walt does or did.......not counting his love for the intake mounted PMD ):h.

Some of his advise wrong, and he would not allow discussion when he was wrong not really wrong but not exactly correct, rapes/raped north of border folks only using UPS to ship, more of a 6.5 part seller than owner with 6.5 experience, bad warranty on glows he sold that were crappy, no live support only email. 80Hp reflash claim Not ! Cold air kit not really cold air with some that wiped a turbo, but he did make good on that. Trash talk of other vendors as part of the sales pitch puts me off.

Not really a bad guy but one I would not return to unless in a bind and no other place to find the part I needed
