Now it is just as broken as the 'default' . . .

For clarification, by 'default' I mean the style that loads on a naked start (no cookies, no cache, etc) which looks like it is actually the 'TTS LITE' style.

The 'TTS Dark' style was *much* more functional prior to the changes as it showed the age of the most current thread for each Forum; now it just shows the Forum and not the most recent thread. To see which Forum has active thread, now the only style that shows this from the home page is the 'Default' style; personally, I like the 'TTS Dark' as it is easier to read under all light conditions.

One other suggestion: enable SSL.

Not totally sure what you are talking about, I only made a few color changes.. no other changes?

The "Default" style is out of the box, that's why I purchased the TTS LITE and DARK because they are much better.

SSL will be coming someday, it's becoming a standard for web forums now.

I can live with all the 'Web 2.0' stuff as that is what the script kiddies like these days, but if anything needs 'fixing', it is the highly erratic notifications (read: far fewer notifications than updates to subscribed threads that get updates).

And just to make sure that the feedback does not seem tilted, overall the page design is good and the 'Web 2.0' stuff is acceptable. It is the core functionality that needs a little help.

Trying to figure out the erratic notifications. Are you saying you get to many? From the email, or from the "alert" box in the top right corner? or both?

I typically set to get daily E-mail updates (or just take the thread's default).

Towards the observed behavior, I am only getting a fraction of E-mail alerts to new posts within a thread. Typically I will consistently get an E-mail alert on the same day when I subscribe to a thread, but nothing on day 2 or thereafter unless I make a new post to that thread; then the cycle repeats.

And just for clarification / level-setting, all the observations are through browser interface and not by app. In terms of use, I only logon when I have something to contribute, so most of the activity (reading) is done as a lurker.

The compiler must have made some additional changes in the background as the display was immediately different. Will work on posting or PM'ing screen-shots.

System will only email you if you are watching the thread and a new post is added. If you don't login to look at the thread, it has no way to knowing "You" read it.

I don't see any reason why to browse the forums "Not Logged In". Also, the system will not send a email after EACH NEW POST. It will only send when one new post is in the thread that you haven't read. If more posts are added and you still haven't "read" it yet, it will not send more updates upon each new posts.

Ah, but the previous code did not need a logon to keep the bit flipped ;)

Seems like the new system clears the bit on E-mail send; any way to restore the previous characteristic?
